Admissions in Akal Academy, Baru Sahib are made on merit basis and are open to all students, irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
New admissions are accepted in all grades except X and XII. A written Entrance Test is conducted for admission to grades K.G. to IX and XI, covering the following areas:
• Punjabi (Class VI onwards)
Children above 4 and below 5 years as on 1 March of the admission year are admitted to the Nursery class without any entrance test.
Interview of the child and parents/guardians is conducted on the same day after the child takes the entrance test. The main objective of the interview is to assess child’s personality and problem areas so as to identify children who need special attention.
Entrance tests are conducted in the school from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m on all seven days from 1 to 15 December and 1 to 5 February every year. The tests are of two hours duration and all stationery is provided at the test center. Tests are based on the syllabus recommended by the NCERT, New Delhi. The results of the entrance test are intimated within 10 days (by 25 Dec. or by 15 Feb.) of the exam.
